Grow Your Business at
The Home Depot and HD Supply
Huffman-Palmer is the firm Dan Huffman and Bill Palmer built on more than 50 combined years of home improvement retail and merchandising experience. We work as an extension of your team across every channel The Home Depot and HD Supply operate: in store, online, and Pro.
The Un-Rep Rep Company
Dan Huffman and Bill Palmer
Dan Huffman and Bill Palmer built parallel careers at The Home Depot, from the stores to merchandising leadership. Dan became a Divisional Merchandise Manager, and Bill a Merchandising Vice President, an officer of the company. Fifty-plus years between them, all inside the retailer their clients now sell to, spanning the sales floor to the merchant's office.
We call ourselves the un-rep rep company. It means we are not in the introductions business; we are part of the fabric of our clients' companies, in product development, consumer insights, line reviews, and supply chain plans every day. That daily work is why merchants take our calls: they know the homework is done, and they know we won't let them down.
One example: a manufacturer producing under a national brand, with strong capabilities but no direct relationship with The Home Depot. We helped them win the business directly, then built what winning required: a domestic supply chain, forecasting and replenishment discipline, and the operating structure to run a national program. Today the manufacturer and The Home Depot have a direct strategic relationship that benefits both, and we are still in the middle of it, keeping the program growing and running smoothly.
Built Around Where The Home Depot Is Going
In 2026 The Home Depot realigned its organization around three priorities. Our work is built to serve all three.
Drive the Core
Product authority is The Home Depot's foundation, and every assortment has to earn its place in it. Every day is a line review, and every line review is the merchant asking one question: does this make my core business stronger? Our job is making sure the answer is yes.
The Interconnected Experience
The customer researches on homedepot.com before they ever reach the aisle, so winning the trip starts online. We manage the digital shelf like a storefront: search visibility, content enrichment, ratings and reviews, and the voice-of-customer signals that feed your next line review.
Win the Pro
The Home Depot is winning the roughly $700 billion Pro market on two fronts: its own direct Pro initiatives and HD Supply. We build supplier programs around what the Pro values: innovation that saves time and money on the job, supply chain designed with the Pro in mind, and partnerships with the Pro merchandising and field sales teams.
What We Do
Every stage of the retail lifecycle at The Home Depot and HD Supply, from first quote to mature program management.
New Business Development
We identify and create the opportunities that grow your business at The Home Depot. We look for the same thing the merchant does, where your line makes their assortment stronger, then do the homework they expect: insight, costing, samples, and a submission they can act on. When a program wins, we extend it across The Home Depot Canada, The Home Depot Mexico, and HD Supply.
Account Management
We run the day-to-day business with The Home Depot. Requests from the merchant and every team behind them land with us and get answered the same day; problems get solved before they become escalations. And when merchants change roles, your program does not start over.
Product Line Reviews
The product line review is where placement is won, defended, and lost. We operate like every day is a line review: the data current, the cost work done, the assortment story ready. So when the review lands, our clients walk in positioned to take space, not just hold it.
Inventory Planning & Replenishment
In stock is a supplier's report card, and we manage it weekly. We work the forecast with The Home Depot's inventory planners, rebuild demand at the DC level, and reconcile it with your production plan, down to containers and factory build schedules. Supply stays ahead of demand through promotions, seasonality, and growth.
Supply Chain & Compliance
We build supply chains that hold up at The Home Depot's scale: sourcing and country-of-origin strategy, 3PL selection, EDI, and the testing and packaging standards that gate a launch. The goal is simple: a supply chain the merchant never has to think about.
eCommerce & Content
Online is The Home Depot's largest growth driver, and nearly every purchase starts there. We run your digital shelf like your highest-traffic store: content built to convert, reviews and media that drive demand, and the data to know what is working.
Focused on The Home Depot and Its Channels
We work with suppliers across every channel The Home Depot operates, retail and Pro. We do not work with competing home improvement retailers; focus is the point.
Common Questions
What does Huffman-Palmer Retail Solutions do?
We are a sales representation and consulting firm for manufacturers who sell, or want to sell, to The Home Depot. We identify and create opportunities, manage the merchant relationship day to day, prepare product line reviews, work the forecast with inventory planning, keep the supply chain reliable and compliant, and run the digital shelf, all as an extension of our clients' organizations.
Do you only work with The Home Depot?
Our focus is The Home Depot family of businesses: The Home Depot, The Home Depot Canada, The Home Depot Mexico, and HD Supply. We do not represent suppliers at competing home improvement retailers. That exclusivity is deliberate: our relationships, data, and process knowledge all compound in one place, without conflicts.
Can you help us become a Home Depot supplier?
Yes. We guide new suppliers through the full path: positioning your line for the right merchant, preparing quotes and product line review submissions, and standing up the compliance, EDI, insurance, logistics, and forecasting infrastructure The Home Depot requires of its supplier partners.
What kinds of suppliers do you work with?
Our clients are based all over the world and range from small family owned companies to large international factory groups, across home improvement categories including building materials, hardware, plumbing, and seasonal.
Are you affiliated with The Home Depot?
No. We are an independent firm. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Home Depot or HD Supply. Our job is to help suppliers perform well within their processes.
